Kenmore Junior FC & UQFC Merge

UQFC merges with Kenmore FC to compete in the newly restructured Brisbane Premier League (BPL) fielding premier teams from U12 to Senior Premiers

1955

UQ Soccer Club is founded by the Chen family at the St Lucia campus to compete in the annual Intervarsity games (Napier Cup) between other Universities

1956-57

UQ wins the Napier Cup and Sam and Steve Chen are selected for the combined Universities team

1961

UQ promoted to Division 2 in the Brisbane competition

1989

UQ wins the Qantas Cup (now Metro Cup)

1991

UQ Soccer Club incorporated as University of Queensland Soccer Club (UQSC)

2005

UQ is promoted to the Brisbane Premier League

2010

UQSC becomes UQFC Inc

2010

After 4 seasons in Division 1 Head Coach Glen Volker leads the Club’s return to the Brisbane Premier League. The Club also receives the Club of the year award, Club Champions Trophy (Div 1) and player of the year to Club captain Dr Peter Moore

2011

UQFC officially becomes the largest senior Club in Queensland

2012

2014

UQFC obtains a women’s National Premier League licence to compete in the inaugural Women’s National Premier League
UQFC receives FFA Level 1 National Club Accreditation Scheme Award
UQFC obtains Level 1, 2 & 3 Good Sports Award
UQFC awarded QLD Good Sports Club of the Year & National Good Sports Healthy Eating Club of the Year
